HousingAnywhere.com is an online housing platform that helps students & landlords rent rooms to and from each other while they go abroad for an internship or study abroad semester. Housing Anywhere.com is scaling an incredible rate and it’s on its way to become the largest source of student accommodation in Europe.

Universities sign up on the platform and then students can use it. Through the process, universities gain an extra tool to increase their supply of off-campus housing, and students have a unique platform to find and rent out rooms when they are going abroad.

We are at an exciting point in our growth strategy and rely on the imagination and innovation of our employees to develop further into the world, anywhere. In total, more than 110 people are putting their energy day by day into this venture. New initiatives are starting up every day, while working in a lean way and hacking growth. Because of all the expansion activities they need an experienced VP Sales who will build a scalable model and develop the sales strategy and all processes around it.

HousingAnywhere is looking for an entrepreneurial VP Sales to join the Leadership Team which consists now of 20 people. You will be the VP for the supply side of the platform, the Supply team takes care that thousands of landlords will list their rooms on the platform.

HousingAnywhere.com faces a lot of demand for student rooms in certain cities. We want to satisfy this demand by offering larger supply of rooms in these cities. The current supply comes from 2 ways to the platform: organically and by cold calling landlords. The Supply Team is responsible for cold calling landlords. This follows the tradition approach of acquisition, onboarding and key account management. This team is lead by a talented young manager. However, to cope with the growth the team wants a faster growth of the supply on the platform. This growth can be achieved mainly by improving processes around the Supply Team. For this they are looking for a VP Sales with strong marketplace supply experience.

As a member of the leadership team, you will grow the team and help in scaling the company by setting the right priorities, and bringing strategies into practice fast.


Time period

  • 40+ hours a week
  • Starting: between now and January 2018
  • You will work from the office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands

We are looking for a person that:

  • Has been working for 7+ years in an online marketplace company, preferably in a marketplace that failed, and a marketplace that really scaled the supply thanks to your efforts.
  • 4 years+ experience as a Team Leader.
  • a strong focus on processes: acquisition, retargeting, onboarding: how to set up & align these processes and assign tasks automatically?
  • knows how to connect different departments: how can the Marketing Team help the Supply Team? How can the Product Team helps the supply team?
  • Is metrics-driven

Job role requirements:

  • University degree (preferably in marketing/business/technical)
  • Experience in working with agencies and outsourcing freelancers and interns
  • Creative, self-starter, not afraid to roll up the sleeves, can deal with a fast-changing environment, capable of handling multiple projects at one time
